Notes about Delias sphenodiscus :

A rare species, found in very few collections, owing to its isolation and very limited range. It was first found at Araucaria Camp at 800 metres in March and April 1939, but it took until 1955 for it to be described as a new species. As it is so unlike any other species, this is rather mystifying.

An interesting fact is that it flies in rather low altitude for a Delias. That's maybe a reason why it has been rarely collected as collectors focus on elevations above 1000m where many Delias species are flying.
